John Mayer Interview - Opie & Anthony Show

I was listening to the Opie & Anthony show today and John Mayer was on and he is a really cool guy. He really influences me as an artist even more so now because he is always himself no matter what (he even said a couple of dirty things which made him seem more like a regular person). I really hope this whole music thing takes off, I would love to work with him one day. I mean, we both have similar likes and dislikes from what I heard in the interview.

BTW: My music is on hold due to financial reasons. It's hard to finish the project when I am paying for the majority of my recording studio time all by myself since no one wants to help fund my project (and even though I'm cool with my producers, I learn that people are out for the almighty dollar, but that's a different story for a different day) Hopefully I can get a job soon so I can finish the rest of my album. It sucks though because if I get a job, it'll be hard to pursue my music (i.e. doing shows). It really is a double-edged sword.

Oh well, I promise that once my album is released, I will do my best to do as many shows as I possibly can.

Till next time..

Este Mundo - DONE!

I just received the complete version of another track for my album called "Este Mundo". It's a deeper song than the other ones, it's basically my "heal the world"... lol. But it has a very strong feel to it. I have gotten really great reviews on it from my closest of closes since this is a track that I will not release until I release my EP. But trust me folks, this is another one that you need to hear.

Wet Paint Syndrome E-Zine

There is an article about me featured in my friend Will's "Wet Paint Syndrome". It's primarily a photography, modeling, and art in general e-zine. I did the interview a couple of months back and I'm very pleased with the article. So make sure to check it out and to sign up to his e-zine!

Here is the site URL:

When you go to his site, go to the "News" section, and then click on "#Download WPS"

P.S. If you look close enough, you might catch an article that includes my manager, "Babylinda"

Panic! At The Disco - June 30th - Sayerville

Wow...what a show... it started with a band I never heard of called "The Hush Sound", but I liked what I heard and I will pick up their album very soon. The drummer Darren was also a sight to see. He had so much energy and had alot of facial expressions that added to his energy. Great band.

Then, came out these two unknowns that I really didn't like at all. They started off with an alternative version of "Oops I did it again!" that was more stupid than cool. And then they had a 10 minute song that was just keyboard and drums where the girl performer (who was on keyboards) was making dumb faces while the drummer just beat away at the drums.

But then, Panic! At The Disco came out and it was a great show! I know the majority of the songs (it's been a while since I knew the bands entire catalog, so it was nice to feel like a young kid again, studying all the lyrics of my favorite band) The band had great energy, great presence, great use of lights (there were some times where there was one center light on the stage pointing towards the band where it would look like it was a 1920's performance, very unique!)

So if anyone is looking for a great band to follow, I highly suggest Panic! At The Disco. They are a refreshing, unique band that have great songs and just a great sound in general!

Fun Filled Birthday Weekend!

Well, it's Monday and the office is a little slow, so I decided to give a re-cap on my birthday weekend.

Friday afternoon I picked Jen up and she gave me the rest of my gifts. A bag full of my favorite candies, a device that connects via USB to keep your drinks cool, and also a device that is called "TV-B-Gone!". It has over 1000 tv brands programmed into it. When you press the button, it begins to go through it's cataloge to force the TV to turn off. I used it in a couple places and I got mixed results. Some TVs turned off, some didn't, but it's still fun to use!

Jen and I went to a cuban restaurant in the faggiest part of NYC, Chelsea. I mean, they even had banners outside of the windows, but that could have been due to the gay pride parade that was going on during the weekend. We both had Churassco, and it was really good. The meat was very tender and suculant, and the sauce was really good too. Then we had a tres leches cake, which wasn't that good, but I got a memorable birthday presentation from the waiter. He came up with the cake, lit the candle, and said a simple "Happy Birthday". I looked up at him and said "Thank you" and continued to look at him, expecting a song or a cuban style happy birthday wish..... I got nothing... he smiled and walked away, while I sat there like a lump. Sooo, I blew out my candle, we had the cake, and then we headed uptown for my next "surprise"

We got to about 45th St. and 8th Ave. and Jen told me it was there, but there was a line to get in. So, to keep the surprise a surprise, I decided to go to a website and read some news articles on my blackberry so I wouldn't hear anyone talking about the show around me. As soon as I got in, the usher pointed me towards our seats and my brother Juan and his girlfriend Melissa were there waiting for us. What a surprise that was that they were there too. The show Jen took me to see was Avenue Q, and I liked it. It had the infamous "The Internet Is For Porn" song in it, which I had no idea was from the show. It was funny, but very dirty at some parts (let's just say I got to see what puppets having sex looked like)

Saturday was busy too. At around 12pm, I went to my dad's house to have a birthday lunch with him and my brothers. So I had a hotdog and a little nibble of some ribs my father made (which were awesome), then I left at 5 for my next "surprise".

I parked near blvd. east to take a bus into NYC, and I see my friend Oscar standing there at the bus stop. At first I thought it was a coincidence that he was there to go into the city too, but then I found out later he was going to my party at Dave & Busters. We got there and Karla was sitting at a table waiting for us. So we all talked, and played a couple of games. Then the rest of my friends showed up, Felipe, Yamaris, Omar, Lui, even Nardeen came! And then there was a huge surprise appearance by Danny, Karola, and Alyssa! I haven't seen Danny and Karola since they originally left to Florida, so I was happy to see them again. And Alyssa is a baby that's not related to me that I actually like! She is really playful and funny! I also made her smile a couple of times and I even had the honor of being drooled on by her... but I really didn't mind, I mean, she's a baby! Drool is 2nd nature to babies!

Then Sunday came and we all went bowling in Hackensack. I did pretty well in the first game, but then iiii suuuuucked the 2nd game.. lol. After that, we headed to Pizzaria Uno cause Danny was craving it since the closest Uno is 3 hrs away for him in Orlando. I had a side salad and a coke since I wasn't that hungry since before bowling Jen and I had some General Tso's from a local chinese joint.

So yea, a very fun weekend with all my friends. Thanks to everyone who shared my birthday weekend (well, Fri-Sat, Sun was just a regular chill day). Also, thanks to Jenny for my great gifts and my surprises. But I think next year, I'll ask her to just tell me what we're doing since Jen is reeeally bad with directions.

Busy busy busy

I've been super busy with work. It's worth it though because I know I am working my ass off for now in order to finance my music. I tried to look for investors in the past, but I didn't find anyone. So, like my mother always taught me, you can't rely on anyone but yourself. So now I'm working my ass off. I get paid pretty well, but man do I have 9-5s. I just don't like how you basically are a slave to a company for days, months, years of your life. And for what...to buy a house? Car? New toaster? Life should not be like this. We only have a limited time on this planet, were we really meant to be in an office setting, copying, filing, faxing? It really is sad how lost the world has become. All of that time spent in school and college to hopefully get a good job. And what if you get that job and realize that this isn't the life you wanted? All of that sacrificing and nights of staying up late to get just one more chapter in before you collapse from exhaustion.

So basically now I'm more determined to continue my music career. I cannot live like this. I can't wake up at 7:00am, come home at 6, and feel good about myself. I want to live life to it's fullest. The way we were meant to live. And cubicles aren't involved...

Finished recording

I'm on the bus right now and I just finished recording my last two songs with donte. These two songs are called "Suda Y Cansa" and "Este Mundo". These two songs are two completely different flavors of my music. Suda y cansa is a club friendly song with a nice melody and beat. Este mundo is a song with a meaning behind it, it'll be a ballad with great harmonies and writing.

I will update you all when I get the tracks in my hands. I won't be releasing these tracks, but they will be available for download real soon!

First Day at Naturex

Today was my first day at my brand-new job and it was grrrrrreat! I was kept busy all day and I loved it. I installed a PC, a local printer, and I also installed a couple of PCs to the network....and I did it from the ground up! I actually cut wires, unwinded them, put them in a jack, connect the PC, then go to the HUB area, patch the network cable, a voila! It was really exciting and I learned alot today. Tomorrow I will be setting up my office voicemail, company email, username/password, and I will receive a blackberry that I'll play around with. This job = awesome!

BB Still on Top!

I forgot to update my blog concerning my recent "fame" on indiemixradio's playlist. They started releasing their playlist and I have been #1 for 2 weeks straight. Last night I also recorded the radio station so I can hear how they introduce my song and I actually got a chill hearing a radio DJ say my name and my song. If you'd like to hear it, visit my myspace music page, the track is up there.

Hip Hop Summit

I was invited by my good friend Donte909 to go to the Hip Hop summit in order to learn a little more about the music industry and where I need to be. It was very informative as the subject of the summit was making sure to save money. They gave information on how to check your credit score for free, what "Net Worth" is, and it also taught me to basically take this music thing as a business and anyone can be independant thank to th internet. So just as a head's up to all my close friends that I will not be giving away free CDs since I am putting alot of money into this and I need to get compensated in return. It's not me being a d*** or anything, it's just the truth. Like the big boys say, don't take it personal, it's just business. But don't worry, I won't make the CD an obscene amount, I'll go over the numbers and try to offer the best price for my product.

I also was invited in order to mingle with people in the music business and hopefully meet someone who will help me further my career. I handed out I'd say 3 or 4 CDs myself to an assistant A&R from Jive Records, a reggaeton DJ, and also a big time promoter, when my manager (Jen) handed out the rest to them to anyone else who looked important. So let's see where this takes me...

Also, I got a nice little wake-up call ayer. One of the CDs Jen handed out was on the floor with foot prints on it. It bothered me and didn't bother me at the same time. It didn't bother me because I had Jen retreive it for me so I can have another CD to hand out, but it bothered me because if the asshole didn't want it, then he could have just said no. But he had to be an asshole and take it, look at it, see my face, and decide to just drop it on the floor. It's cool though, people like that get nowhere in life. Like it would have literally killed him to listen to my music. Like the second he puts it in his piece of crap sound system he calls a car, he will literally keel over and die just from hearing it.

So yea...didn't bother me one bit...

BB's big night

Tonight is what it's all about...if you recall in my previous post, I told you that I met this DJ, his name is David Diamante. I called him right now and I asked him if he was able to hear any of my songs, he told me that last night he was DJing and the club was just going crazy, so he wasn't able to get it to play, BUT, he said that he will listen to my music today and he will let me know what he honestly thinks of it, and also, he is going to play my song tonight at the club to see what the people think of it. He is going to call me tomorrow to let me know what he thought and also how the people reacted to my music.

It's funny cause tonight is huge for me, but I can't be there to witness what the people think of my music. I would love to be there to see everyone's reaction, but I guess this is what it's like to be a real musician, to have your music play somewhere and you pretty much don't know when and where it's played. I feel a little weird, I feel like a parent in some way. "Escuchame" is a song that I worked my ass off to do (along with my producer) and now it's going out there, into the real world, to either be accepted or denied.

...let's all hope it gets accepted...

Bad Boy Entertainment Party

The party went pretty well for the most part. I had all of my business cards ready, and I distributed them at the bar. I then hung out for a while and danced with Jen. Donte came at around 12am and started doing his own thing. The highlight of the evening happened when Jen went to put some more cards on the bar for me and a DJ asked her what she was putting down. She gave him a brief description of me and the DJ was interested in meeting me. Jen then got me and I began to describe my unique music style to the DJ. I gave him my CD (as well as his manager) and told him that the first song is what my producer likes to call a "Pop Reggaeton" song that I recorded, the next one was a darker song with a great melody and alot of meaning behind it. And the last was an acoustic song similar to John Mayer's style. He then told me that he will try them out at his club and to call him to find out how it went.

So tomorrow I plan on calling him sometime in the afternoon to find out how the crowd enjoyed my music.

That was basically it...

Good Deed!

I had to go out today to run some errands and my last stop was CVS. I noticed that there was a homeless guy outside of it asking for people for change. I also noticed that everyone was ignoring him, and at first I ignored him too. I got out of CVS and headed towards my car, and my gut told me to help him, and I ignored it at first, but I'm always ignoring that feeling and then I regret that I didn't do it later. So I turned around and headed towards him.

BB: How's it going, you hungry man?

Homeless Guy: Yea man, I'm always hungry!

BB: I was going to go to BK, you want me to get you something?

Homeless Guy: Yea man

BB: What do you want?

Homeless Guy: Whatever you can get me

BB: Alright, I'll get you whatever then

Homeless Guy: Alright...hold up... uh, how about a croissant sandwich with ham...

BB: Alright

Homeless Guy: ...and some orange juice...

BB: Ok, I'll get you the whole combo man

Homeless Guy: Alright

... so I buy it, and seperate everything so I can give it to him and head back towards him...

BB: Here you go man, god bless

Homeless Guy: Thanks, thanks alot *started opening everything immediatly*

...and that was my good deed for the day. I am not writing this on my blog to bloat or anything, I just want to be able to read this sometime later and see that I made someone's day a little bit better with my simple gesture.

Atlantic City : The Re-cap

Man, Saturday was soooo much fun! We left at about 12pm or so because Joel had to do some work in the morning, but the trip to there went by so quick. On the way down, I decided to show Joel and Nelly my new song since they always enjoy my new songs, and they did enjoy this new one as well. Joel was a little confused because I said it was supposed to be reggaeton, but his definition of reggaeton was spanish singing with rapping. I told him that it was my twist of reggaeton, that my producer calls it "Pop Reggaeton".

When we got to AC, we went directly to Ceasar's Palace and proceded to the roulette table (which was good since I'm often lucky there) My first bet of the day was on the 2nd set of 12, which is a 3-1 odds. I put down $15 and I won! Then I did some more gambling, but I don't recall blow by blow what happened. Let's just say that I came out even at the end of the night.

Then, when we were finished with Cesar's, we went to the Borgata and gambled a little more, and then had the infamous Borgata buffet. Everything was really really good, I mean, I was eating steak, general tso's chicken, and pizza! When else in one's life would you ever eat that combination except for at a buffet. And the thing is, that the food was really really good. But it did come at a cost.. $27.95. But man, it was well worth it. EVEN THE DESERTS WERE GOOD!

Then...it was time for the main event...to watch Brian Regan perform...and he was well worth the trip! He was HILARIOUS! And I know a thing or two about comedy, and he was just flowing with his set so naturally. And even when a couple of people yelled out, he had a great response to them. If anyone ever has a chance to watch Brian Regan perform, please go see him. He is still a very humble guy after so many performances, he is a down to earth guy with a wife and 2 kids, and the best thing about his set is that it's completely clean. He is funny without the need to curse. Only a handful of comics can pull that off. www.brianregan.com

And that was the end of my mini-vacation to AC. It really was fun!

Day trip to AC!

Well, I'm leaving in about an hour with Juan, Melissa, Joel and Nelly to AC to watch Brian Regan perform at Borgata at 11:30pm. I'm excited because he is my favorite comedian of all time, I can't help but laugh at his act even though I probably heard his jokes like a million time. Also, tonight I am going to experience the infamous Borgata buffet. My brother warned me that it's about $30 or so, but maaaaan, I'm sure the food will be AWESOME! Plus, I just got paid on Friday so I have a little bit of extra cash that I can spend.

Well, that's all for now, I'll try to remember to update my blog tomorrow morning after I wake up from my looooong night of laughing!

Bubba Sparxxx Album Release Party

Last night, my good friend/producer Donte909 invited me to attend the Bubba Sparxxx album release party. It was my first type of music event, so I was a little nervous. I burned about 20 or so CDs in case I happened to meet someone who was interested in my music and I also updated my iPod with my new song. I got there at about 8pm and I proceeded directly to the DJ area, submitted my CD and I requested if he could play the first track sometime in the evening. He said no problem. I then started to walk around and see what kind of people were around. Since Donte wasn't there yet, I decided to just walk around and take in the atmosphere. He has suggested that I mingle at this event, but I'm not the type of person to sit down with complete strangers and strike up conversation. So I just basically stood around, had a drink, observed the people, and waited for Donte. I waited for him until about 11:30pm, that's when he and his brother (Big Ben) FINALLY got there. He then proceeded to take pics of some of the people there, got their information, and then he introduced me as his reggaeton artist and if they'd mind taking a pic with me. It was more fun when he was there.

Then, towards the end of the night, Donte had me snap a shot with some guy with a white baseball cap and a fur jacket. I had no idea who is was, but here is the pic...

Image hosting by Photobucket

...so after the pic, Donte asks me, "Do you know who that was?" and I say, "No, but I know that he was wearing alot of fur" then he says "That was Bennie Man" and I was just shocked that he was there and also how Donte got the pic off so quickly and perfectly. As soon as the rest of the place knew, it turned from Bubba's party to Beenie's party. They were playing all Beenie's songs for the rest of the night. Then, as we were leaving, Bubba was passing us by and Donte asked if he could take a pic with me that I was an up-and-coming reggaeton artist, he agreed, but then these two girls I took pics with earlier jumped on him and were like seducing him while Donte was trying to get the pic. Donte called his attention and he proceeded to pose for the camera...

Image hosting by Photobucket

... so yea, basically that was my evening. And then on April 7th, I have tickets to go to the bad boy entertainment party at the copa in NYC. I am going to try to get business cards done so I can put with my CD so I can possibly hand them out to people.

Till next time friends...

Money

You know, it's funny how people with loads of money barely know what to do with it. So they fill their houses with stupid crap like gold-plated pinball machines, or 8 different cars to barely use, just to say they have them. And then, people with little or no money could really use that money for small things like paying bills or getting food for their family. I am one of those people who have little or no money, but I know exactly what I can do with it. I sacrifice alot of time and effort for my future, and it's silly that a little thing like money could get in the way of my dreams. If I had an unlimited amount of money, my album would be done by now and would be distributed already and the wheels would be in motion. BUT, because I don't have it, the wheels are halted for now until I can get enough money in order to pay for everything. And I am not looking for a handout, I am just sharing my thoughts and opinions. I know there are people out there who would like to give me what little money they have, but I can't live with myself knowing that I am taking money from someone who already has so little. So I have to just toughen up and find ways to make alot of money in a short amount of time (legally of course)

Well, that's enough for now... I'll go back to watching FREE TV, cause that's the most fun I can have without spending any money...

I'm amazed...

...at what I was capable of today. I really have outdone myself with this current project. I mean, there is no way that I can define what I wrote and what everything sounds like so far. And it's not over yet, my producer is going to work on the background music and he told me that he is going to "bless" the song. I seriously cannot believe what is transpiring, I mean, we are both SICK in what we do. And the music that we both will make will really be crazy.

Also, on a side note, I got a sidekick II off ebay the other day and so far I'm liking it. It's a little bigger than normal phones, but that's ok because of all the data I can transfer from it. I love getting my emails while I'm out and being able to keep track of my calendar, photos, address book, all that good stuff in one device. I read on the net that the Sidekick 3 is coming out in April or so. I think if I have enough loot from either my new part-time job or from my music, I'll def. pick that bad boy up. It's really amazing.

Well, that's enough of my rambling..thanks for reading.

-B

Well...

...today will be the day I become a "reggaeton" artist for a little while. I am going to brookly today to record one of my songs. I will see what my producer suggest what I should do with my song (meaning if I should upload it on my myspace music page).. you all know that I would love to show each and everyone of my friends the fruit of my hard work, but I have to think in a business set of mind and not in the eager little kid wanting to show off a painting he made.

So I will inform you all soon what I will plan on doing with my song..

Busy Busy Busy

These next couple of days I'm going to be busy as hell. It's about time too. Tomorrow morning I have an interview for a part-time help desk position in the city. Then I am going with Jen for her interview doing some hippie stuff that has to do with saving the planet. Then in the afternoon we're getting picked up to go to Long Island so Jen can audition to be in a group. Then at night, I'm going with my brothers to watch a Nets vs. Knicks game... in a suite! Then sabado I am planning to get my new sidekick II turned on. Sunday I'm going to pass by my dad's house to drop off my gift for his new baby. Then the whoooole next week I am working in Iselin, NJ to deploy laptops for my temp agency. THEN, we'll see if I get the job with the part-time help desk position and hopefully I'll be working from time to time in the city. I miss doing help desk stuff.

I also just talked to my producer and it seems that our calendars are clashing a little bit and we can't record my music this weekend. It's a good thing and a bad thing since I could focus more on saving money to help pay some bills and stuff.

*whew* I sure am busy....

A little nervous about my future

I was just up listening to some music and I was thinking about my "career". I'm a little nervous about my future. I mean, I am currently not going to school, I work part-time as a PC tech.. the pay is good but I don't get that much work, so my paycheck isn't huge at the end of the week...all I really have is my music. It gets me angry seeing people on like American Idol or some other reality show trying to be pop superstars through a show. I think that's the easy way out...to sing music that is already written to judges..that's cake. I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I went that route. Even though I know I am taking the harder route by writing my own stuff and just praying to whatever god that is up there that people will like it... because this literally is it for me... I have nothing else but this hope that my music becomes something... I know my family thinks that I am a dissapointment and I feel like I am a burden sometimes because I am not as successful as my brothers are... but I just can't do well in school... as hard as I try, I can't do it...

I'm even more nervous now because I need to come up with money that I literally don't have... I am going to come up with the money to pay for 1 song to be produced, but then I have to pray that my producer can show that song to the right person who will want to help finance the rest of my project... when I talked to him this past week, he told me that his partners don't want to finance another reggaeton artist because... and I quote... "Nah man... Daddy Yankee got dat shit locked down." That is what is driving me right now.. to prove to those people who think that reggaeton should be one way wrong. I am going to open their eyes back to what music should be. It should be a catchy melody, story, and also someone who can tell it well. I am not going to make mindless music like other reggaeton artists out there. I am really going to surprise you all with my writing and my arrangement. Hopefully the rest of the world will see my talent and help me become something. Then we'll see what my family thinks of me...

Thanks for reading...

Eminem - When I'm Gone

I know this song is probably somewhat old to everyone, but I listened to this song very carefully today and I realized how truly deep it is. I can really relate to Em in a way because him and I want to tell stories with our music (and sometimes we know those stories are pretty scary.. i.e. Kim) and he truly paints a great picture in this song on the reason why he is leaving music (as a performer anyways, I'm sure he'll still produce). I feel that this is a great final song for Em, it feels like it's his most honest.

I just hope that I can be as blessed as him as a musician. I respect him so much for all he has written and all he has done and I personally will miss his music. He is the supreme definition of what a wordsworth is.

3 out of 4 ain't bad! (update on music)

Hey everyone, just wanted to give an update on my music. Well, I talked to my BMG rep and I sang 3 new songs that I wrote for him over the phone. He liked 2 songs and put a question mark on one of them. He really likes my style of writing and he believes that my uniqueness is what is going to sell me. We are having a bit of difficulty finding someone who will finance the project. He told me that he showed my music page to a co-partner of his and the guy wasn't feeling my music. He tried to tell him that the stuff I am writing now is hot and to trust him, but he doesn't want to put money into my project without hearing anything. I am not able to pay for the studio time and he cannot finance it because he just worked with 2 other artists and he just does not have the money. It is rather expensive since I have to get about 5 songs done to have a single album. He told me alot of information about the music business and I didn't expect there to be so much work. He told me the hardest part right now is getting the music done, and he believes that I can handle that with no problem. So right now I have 3 songs that he really likes and 1 iffy, he also recommended that I write a song that is up-tempo, so I'll give that a try since I'm so used to a more mellow vibe. I have a surprise for all of you though, I plan on poking fun at the reggaeton that is currently out there (nothing malicious, just something to show my humor) like I plan on tackling how the majority of the songs out there are garbage because the writing is really bad, or that some songs invent words just so they could sound hot (Rackata? Gasolina = semen?) So yea, I'd love to know what you all think about that concept and just any well wishes or "You can do it Beebs!" would be much appreciated. BTW: I want to give a big thank you to Jenny wenny for helping me get in contact with this guy. So hopefully she can help finance my record too

BB doing.... reggaton?!?!

Haha.. yea, I am writing reggaton songs. I spoke to someone who works at BMG records and he told me that my songs are good but if I make raggaton songs it would be a guaranteed hit since that is a hot genre right now. So I wrote one and the rep liked it...alot. He told me if I write 5 more songs he will try to get me studio time and possibly get me a single deal.

So for all you club goers, look out for BB to do some hot reggaton!

How my 1st performance went

Sorry it took a couple of days to update you all on how the 1st performance went, but here it is!

First off, the place is very nice, I'd have to say there were about 20 or so people there. It's a small place and it has a nice feel to it. I was performing along with 5 other artists. When I was introduced, the MC didn't know if I was a guy or a girl. He said "And next, coming up to the stage, he or she resides from West New York.." and I yell out "HEEEE!" so he says "Oh, he, he resides in West New York, give it up for BB".

I go up to a couple of claps and I'm told to talk to the audience. I've never done that before so I said whatever came to mind "Hey...um...my name is BB...I'm a guy last time I checked..." then some guy from the bar yells "Put some bass in your voice!" and I say "Put some bass in my voice? Dude, I'm a singer, I don't need bass in my voice" Then the DJ asks if I'm done to put the CD on and I said yea.

After my performance I think everyone clapped for me (I wasn't sure, I wanted to get off stage cause I had a hot plate of nachos waiting for me at my table) and a woman by my table asked me who helped me with the backup music. I proceded to tap on my head and I told her it was all from there. She was very surprised and said that I have a gift and that it sounded very very good.

I then sat back and enjoyed the rest of the evening. The DJ came to me later on in the night and told me that the song was very good, but I just needed to work on my stage presence. I told him that it was the first time I performed in about 8 years and he said Daaaamn, that's a long as time.

Then, towards the end of the night, I was on my way out and the man who was in charge of the show said "You leaving BB? You want to come back next week and perform again?" I said "Hell yea I do". Then the next day I wrote to him thanking him for the opportunity to perform and I received this email response:

We would like to thank you for performing and attending our Wednesday showcase. We and all of our patrons enjoyed your performance and would love to have you and your guest back for Wednesday January 18th.

Sooo... BB is going back to 88 Keys next week. Hope ya'll can make it.

BB's 1st Performance in 8 Years

Hey everyone, I just wanted to update you all on an upcoming show. The address, date and time are on my music page. Just to give you a rundown, it's a show for unsigned artists to perform and hopefully get picked by the 105.1 radio personnel. If I get chosen, I could get paid gigs at venues run by 105.1 in the NY and NJ area. Also, a track of mine will be played on the radio for the tri-state area to hear.

So go to my music page and find out where/when it is. If you can show up, please let me know so I can look for you, I'd appreciate any support.

Thanks and wish me luck!

Death is the only certainty

This morning I went to a funeral and it changed my perspective on things. This person wasn't someone that I frequently saw, instead it was a close friend of my grandparents. My grandmother and mother were crying quite a bit at the funeral. And that got me to thinking that death is the only certainty in life. I mean, no one really knows when it will come for us, that's why we need to live each day as if it was our last. This man died from cancer, but I don't know if he truly knew what he had because old cuban customs say that you shouldn't let the person who is going to die know that they are going to die. I don't believe in that at all because if I want to be able to say my goodbyes to everyone that has effected my life in a way, and to also make one last effort to show the ones I love how much I appreciated their help in my life. I have rubbed elbows with death in the past, but thank god that I am one tough son of a bitch and I can take anything... so far. I am trying my best to stay healthy because I don't want anyone worrying about me dying. I know my brothers for one will really miss me since the 3 of us are connected no matter where we are or what we are doing. It's like we have our own seperate family from our immediate. We are kind of like and immediate immediate family.

I just wanted to share my enlightening experience rather than keep it inside. If anyone reads this, I would really appreciate a comment on what you think about death and also how you want to be remembered. And also, if I effected your life in any way, I would appreciate if you shared that with me also. I don't get serious often, so this is quite rare.

R.I.P Alfredo.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West

Hey everyone, I noticed that i has been a while since I wrote another blog on my page, so I thought I would write briefly about my experience with the new book that I got for Christmas from my brother. It's called "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" and I am loving it. I have never been a big fan of reading cause, quite frankly, who needs to read when there are so many more interesting things on TV. But man oh man, this book might get me started into reading books as a regular hobby. The idea of the book, just like the play, is an alternate look at the world of Oz. The main focus on the book is Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West). It tells you how she was born, how she was raised, and right now I am up to where she goes to Shiz University (the school most gifted kids go to to learn).

I also received the sequel to this book, Son of a Witch, which I'm guessing follows Elphaba's son. Should be an interesting couple of months reading these two books. I would recommend all my friends see the Wicked play I mentioned in my earlier blog and then pick up the book, it really is a great experience.
